[The below taken from "Notes to an Unseen Friend" 2-85 - Notebook]

- Living at 4504 Ave. D, Austin, TX with Robert Pendleton. However, staying most of the time with Lisa Bruner in her condo at 4405 Ave. A #18 and 44th. Around this time, write my first song with words for the guitar, "Things You Saw". Also worked in the Law School Library on notes for the tattoo on my right leg.

From a letter to Mark and Lisa (his current girlfriend):

The house I moved into with Robert is perfect except that it has no heat or a/c. Robert bought a small gas heater that works all right.... I got a job throwing newspapers in the morning and I think that I'll make enough money to get by... I'm almost finished writing 'The Trip'". [ The newspaper job lasted about one day.]
